Our Approach
Andrew Pearce is one of the few conservators internationally with specialist expertise spanning aircraft, military technology, industrial heritage, electrical systems, scientific instruments, glass and large-scale sculpture. As both a qualified conservator and qualified electrician, he brings a rare combination of conservation science, engineering knowledge and practical trade experience to complex heritage projects.
Early involvement allows risks, occupational health and safety hazards, project scope and resource requirements to be identified before restoration begins. Large technology projects frequently conceal hazards such as asbestos, heavy metal coatings and paints, hazardous chemicals, structural instability and deteriorated electrical systems. By identifying these issues at the planning stage, projects can be more accurately scoped, realistically budgeted and delivered with greater confidence and safety by staff and volunteer teams.
