Conservator on Retainer™
·Program 03Australian conservation expertise. Delivered globally.
Time-zone flexible seminars, remote advisory, global logistics support and crisis cover — for international museums and cultural institutions.
About This Program
The same expertise that protects Australia's national collections — available to institutions worldwide.
The COR™ International program is designed for museums, galleries and cultural institutions outside Australia who want access to Australian conservation expertise on an ongoing retainer basis. Just like having a qualified conservator on staff — for a fraction of a full-time salary, regardless of where your institution is located.
The program is built around the reality of international operation: time-zone flexible seminars with recordings, an enhanced Iconic Conservation program with three sponsorship pathways, and member discounts that extend to oral history and film editing services — acknowledging that great collections are not only objects.
Our Director is a member of the international ICORP committee, which advises UNESCO and national governments on cultural heritage risk preparedness. The network that backs this program spans Smithsonian-class institutions and operates at the highest levels of global conservation practice.
What's Included
Nine benefits — designed for institutions operating across time zones and borders.
Time-Zone Flexible Seminars
Professional development delivered via Teams, with recordings available for a few weeks after each session. Your team can attend live or watch at a time that suits your region — then contact us with questions. Up to 23 seminars per year at Level III.
Expert Conservator Access
Regular phone consultations with qualified conservators — covering collection concerns, material queries, treatment options, and institutional planning. 2× per month at Level I, 3× per month at Levels II and III.
Intake Fee Waived
Conservation intake fees are waived for all members, including freezer treatment for textiles. Free quoting on all items — except large technology. Items can be submitted for assessment without a cost hurdle.
International Logistics
We manage transport, crating and containment for items travelling to our Canberra conservation lab. Project management is included in membership; carrier costs are billed separately via International Art Services.
Iconic Conservation — Three Pathways
International members may nominate a conservation treatment, a workshop or training program, or material support for their collection. If a corporate sponsor selects your nomination, Endangered Heritage coordinates everything — at no cost to you.
Oral History & Film Editing
A benefit unique to Program 4. Member discounts apply to oral history recording and film editing services — supporting collections where audio-visual documentation is as important as the physical object.
Crisis Support — 24/7
A direct emergency line to our team regardless of time zone. Our Director holds membership of the international ICORP committee and CEnvP certification from EIANZ — with the credentials and network to respond to any heritage crisis.
Conservation & Heritage Assessments
Member discounts on conservation needs assessments and heritage assessments — giving your institution access to rigorous, evidence-based collection evaluation at a reduced cost.
Member Discounts — Scaled by Tier
Discounts across workshops, digitising, on-site workshops (10+ staff), oral history and film editing, and conservation assessments. 10% at Level I, 15% at Level II, 20% at Level III.
Iconic Conservation
Three ways a corporate sponsor can transform your collection — at no cost to you.
Endangered Heritage is actively seeking corporate partners to support the international heritage sector. The Iconic Conservation program connects sponsors to institutions, artefacts and outcomes that generate genuine public impact.
Nominate a conservation treatment
Nominate up to 3 artefacts for sponsored conservation. If selected, Endangered Heritage organises international delivery, conservation by our specialist team, and return — entirely funded by the corporate sponsor.
Nominate a workshop or training program
Nominate a professional development need for your institution. A sponsor may fund a tailored workshop, seminar or training engagement — delivered to your team, at your location or online.
Nominate material support
Nominate a specific material, product or equipment need for your collection. Sponsors can fund storage materials, conservation supplies or technical equipment — targeted precisely to your institution's requirements.
