The Challenge
Victoria Pearce combines qualifications in Fine Arts, Textile Conservation and Painting Conservation, bringing together the perspective of both artist and conservator. Her background as a practising maker provides an understanding of artistic process, while her conservation training draws on material science, chemistry and textile technology to preserve the work as a complete object.
Our Approach
After a decade specialising in textiles, tapestry and fibre-based cultural materials, Victoria retrained in painting conservation, recognising that the canvas is every bit as important as the paint it supports. This uncommon combination provides a broader range of conservation solutions, allowing treatments to address both the painted surface and the underlying textile structure.
Outcomes
From contemporary art to historic paintings, every treatment is guided by conservation science, respect for the artist's intent and the long-term preservation of both the image and its support.
