The Challenge
Glass is one of the most technically demanding materials to conserve. While many damaged objects are considered beyond repair, high-value and historically significant pieces can often be stabilised and visually reintegrated using specialist conservation techniques.
Our Approach
Andrew Pearce is one of Australia's most experienced glass conservators, specialising in the conservation of museum-quality glass, sculpture and decorative arts. Using conservation-grade adhesives with a refractive index closely matched to glass, joins become significantly less visible, losses can be filled and colour matched, and damaged objects can often be returned to a visually coherent state while preserving their historical integrity.
These treatments require extensive experience, meticulous preparation and prolonged curing times to achieve a stable, durable result. They are reserved for significant objects where quality, longevity and conservation ethics are paramount.
